Pastor Jon Wrightson

was born on July 28th, 1973 to Wayne and Selma Wrightson in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father, a motivated Marine, was transferred from Hawaii to Onslow County in 1976. His father’s service ended shortly thereafter and the family settled in Greensboro North Carolina. He graduated from Grimsley High School in 1992. In 1993 he followed in his father footsteps and joined the Marine Corps. At the age of 21, he began attending Charity Baptist Church. Three months after first attending, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. It is here, where he met his future wife, Misty. A short year later, he surrendered his life to preach. His active military service had ended after serving honorably for four years however, his active service for the Lord was just getting started. His first ministry was as an assistant superintendent of the Malachi Boys Home. He served faithfully for two years in this ministry. His dedication, strong work ethic, and God’s Divine hand on his life led him to become the head superintendent of the boy’s home after a year; serving as such for another year. He left the boys home to answer Gods call on his life as an assistant pastor at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, Stoneville NC. He served at Amazing Grace Baptist Church for two and a half years until God moved in his life once again. God’s calling on his life was to start a church in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Having not formally attended a bible college, he felt it wise to attend a bible college to gain a good Bible foundation. His decision led him to register and attend Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana. His strong desire and determination to fulfill the will of God propelled him to graduate in three and a half years. His unwavering desire to be used of God, moved him and his budding family to Jacksonville, North Carolina in the spring of 2004. His unquenchable desire to reach the community led him to walk the streets of Jacksonville daily, inviting residents to the Grand Opening. Coastline Baptist Church’s Grand Opening occurred on October 10, 2004 with 55 people in attendance; four of which were saved that day. The formative years saw steady continuous growth. The last two years has seen great spikes in growth. The average attendance in 2005 was 45 and the current average is 174, with a high at 253; God is so good! Pastor Wrightson is married to the former Misty Loggins. They have four children; Kayla , Susanna , Jonathan , and Daniel.

Assistant Pastor Chris Robbins

was saved and baptized at the age of 10. He knew he was going to heaven. The assurance of salvation was all that mattered to him as a young man and most of his young adult life. Chris put little forethought into living a full Christian life and slowly fell away from things of God and migrated to things of the world. He conformed, as many of us do, to his environment and its demands. He graduated high school and got a job. Not long into his adult life his desire to see the world lead him to join the Marine Corps and serve for fourteen years.

Coastline Baptist Church (CBC) had recently reshaped the lives of one of his neighbors. By invitation of this same neighbor, Chris and his family attended a Sunday morning service. That service was followed by a Sunday afternoon service, followed by a Wednesday night service; they were hooked! The Church definitely had God in it – CBC was changing lives! The next several services and a trip to Pastors’ School 2009, spoke to his soul. Brother Chris felt God’s call to serve full time. After several months of battling the Lord’s call and will for his life, he surrendered to preach and subsequently was called into the ministry at Coastline Baptist Church.

Chris resigned his commission in the Marine Corps after serving fourteen years of active and faithful service; six year shy of retirement. His active service in the military had ended, however his active service for the Lord had just begun.

Chris Robbins is married to the former April Taylor. They have three children; Kyle, Dylan, and Tyler.

Youth Pastor Daniel Sola

was born in New Haven, Connecticut on June 20, 1986, to Jorge and Cathy Sola. He was raised in the small town of Dunnellon, Florida. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman. On July 1st, 2006, he was invited to a softball game through the military ministry of a local church. After the game he heard a clear presentation of the Gospel for the first time and by faith he trusted Jesus Christ as his Saviour. The next day he followed the Lord in believer’s baptism. Daniel had his mind set on being stationed with the 3rd Marine Division in Okinawa, Japan but God had bigger plans. God closed that door and sent him to the 2nd Marine Division at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina where, just two years earlier, Pastor Jon Wrightson had started Coastline Baptist Church. Daniel was given Pastor Wrightson’s phone number from a worker in the sailor ministry of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana and was able to make arrangements for a ride to church. It was at CBC where God began to shape and mold Daniel’s life through the preaching and teaching of His Word. God used Pastor Wrightson and his family to show Daniel the love of Christ and the importance of a Christ-centered life. On February 1st, 2009, during a message from Pastor Wrightson entitled “I Die Daily” Daniel yielded his life to preach the Gospel. On July 9th, 2010 Daniel was blessed to marry the woman of his dreams, Sarah Suttles, who graduated from Texas Baptist College in 2007. They are looking forward to furthering their work and service in the ministry of Coastline Baptist Church. Daniel is currently enrolled at Hyles-Anderson College, and will earn his degree through their online program.
